Dr. Igor Santos works in Deustotech, where he conducts research focused mainly in the areas of information security, malware detection, content filtering, natural language processing, information retrieval methods, opinion mining, and applied machine learning. He has written over 50 peer-reviewed research articles in international conferences and indexed journals. He is also a regular scientific committee member of major international conferences such as DEXA, CISIS, HAIS, SOCO, IAS or IDEAS. He has acted as a reviewer for several academic journals such as "Information Sciences", "IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics & Security", "International Journal of Computer Systems Science & Engineering", "Logic Journal of the IGPL" or "International Journal of Electronic Commerce." Since 2010, he is lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Deusto, where he has taught the undergraduate courses "Software Requirements", "Computer Programming" and "Computer Programming II" and the postgraduate courses "New approaches for detecting malware" and "Scientific methodology" in the Master's Degree in Information Security.
