Since October 2017 the Vice-rectorate for International Relations at the University of Deusto has set up a new division: the Global Engagement Office (GEO).
Its key mission is to devise, set up and develop the internationalization strategies for the university, and work very closely with Faculties and central services in the achievement of goals associated to the University strategic plan. Among its main strategic projects is the design and implementation of a plan for the internationalization of bachelor and master programmes.
The top-down and bottom–up comprehensive strategy of internationalization is carried out through the joint collaboration of the Global Engagement Office with Faculties, academics, and the university community as a whole. While it focuses mostly on the internationalization of the curriculum, on the mobility and internationalization of students, and on encouraging measures to improve the international and intercultural competencies of the academics, campus life and non-curricular activities are also key in this internationalization strategy.
The result to be attained is a UD policy to offer international degrees and internationalised programmes that may cater for both local and international students, thus strengthening networking collaboration with our partners and broadening and enriching our university community.
